A young woman picks up a scratched bowling ball and rolls it down the lane. A couple is sipping organic wine and eating a roasted beet salad. A roomful of people laughs at a comedy sketch. It sounds like three different scenes from three different places, but it’s just another night at the Bryant-Lake Bowl, a restaurant-bowling alley-theatre hybrid on 810 West Lake Street. The owner, Kim Bartmann, opened the Bryant-Lake Bowl October 31st, 1993 after relocating theatre seats from the Stillwater Junior High gym, painting walls, ripping up flooring, and installing lights.

I've kind of made a place that I would love to hang out in, and it turns out that lots of other people like to hang out in it too. - Kim Bartmann
