C. A. Rasmussen House. 425 8th Street. Built in 1894. Whomever designed this house focused much effort on the highly-decorated front façade. The sides and back of this house have much less ornamentation.
This house has a striking polygonal tower supported by stout turned columns and capped with a "witch's hat" roof. In between are nifty sunburst panels. The porch's turned ball spindles and intricate corner brackets are unusual and appealing.
