Tower Hill Park is the location of the Prospect Park "Witch's Hat" Water Tower. Together they were listed on the National Register of Historic Places on November 13, 1997. According to the Minnepolis Park Board website, this 4.54 acres of park land was acquired in 1906, and was officially named Saint Anthony Heights in 1908. Then in 1909 the residents asked that it be renamed Tower Hill Park, comemorating a previous privately-owned watchtower that overlooked the city, where visitors could take in the views for fifteen cents. The water tower that we now identify with the park was built by the city's water department in 1913. The park's amenities include walking paths and two tennis courts, and is in close proximity to Pratt School and Community Center.
