The Kennedy House faces Sunset Avenue, a street which was originally named Thurman Avenue for its developer Joe Thurman. The frame residence is an example of the two-story American four-square house. Built by local builder D. L. Cobb and executed in the Classical Revival style, it features a low hipped roof with overhanging eaves and a wrap-around one-story porch supported by pillars. A single hipped dormer is centered on the Sunset Avenue facade. A one-story bay window contributes to the asymmetrical effect of the Main Street facade.
